The digital agency CPS manages the BMG's online presence. The ministry uses the website to provide information on current topics such as health protection and disease prevention. With this service, the BMG is fulfilling its duty to provide information. In exceptional social situations, such as the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, millions of citizens access the government's websites.

Due to the sudden load peaks, the BMG tried to find a suitable solution with the help of CPS to reduce downtime.

The implementation

Short loading times and maximum availability worldwide

The Myra high-performance CDN delivers all static and dynamic content of the BMG website in the shortest possible time by using the most advanced web technologies, in particular RAM caching. Myra's caching function generally improves the performance of the website and reduces the load on the origin server – in this case, on BMG's servers. To do this, Myra operates a global CDN infrastructure at the most important Internet Exchanges. The content is delivered directly from the RAM, avoiding slow access to the hard disk or SSD.

The CDN is operated using caching rules in the classic pull method or to reduce INGRESS traffic (traffic between your origin server and the CDN caches) and the CDN caches (cache warming) via the direct content upload in the push method. Uploading via API is also possible. Content delivery is completely decoupled from the customer's infrastructure, making the website independently scalable. The advantage: short loading times and maximum availability for critical websites worldwide.
